Introducing Balayage and Balayage Hand-Dyed from Pascuali Yarns.
To introduce Pascuali yarns and celebrate the 1st Anniversary of Stitch Yarn Studio, we have chosen the Nixe Shawl designed by Melanie Berg for our "Stitch-A-Versary" Knit Along.
According to the designer, Nixe is the German word for mermaid, and it seemed the perfect name for a shawl where the simple, repetitive stitch pattern evokes the sun-dappled scales of mermaids playing just below the surface of the sea.
Melanie Berg also collaborated with Pascuali on developing Balayage - a fingering-weight 80% baby alpaca yarn and 20% merino wool yarn. Her shawl design showcases a solid Balayage colorway paired with a hand-dyed colorway. Balayage offers a mixture of delicate baby alpaca and fine merino wool that is soft and gentle on the skin. It can be worn by those with sensitive skin and is also suitable for babies and children.
Each Knit Along kit includes the Nixe shawl pattern, 3 skeins of a solid-colored Balayage ((50 g / 190 Y) (natural, medium gray, or dark grey), and 2 skeins of Balayage Hand-Dyed (50 g / 190 Y) - available in five compelling shades. Since Balayage is hand-dyed, the yarn you receive may look different from the colors shown in the photographs.
Additional project photos show alternate colorways, which may not be available in kits. Photos are the property of their respective owners. You can see more Nixe project photos on Ravelry.
